In honor of Walt Disney's 118th birthday, we talk to some of the artists who worked with him to get their insights on the man and his legacy.

Walt Disney was a visionary who changed the world of animation. His films and characters have brought joy to generations of people around the world. But what was he like as a person? What were his inspirations? How did he create his magical worlds?

To get some answers, we spoke to three artists who worked with Disney during his lifetime: Marc Davis, Ollie Johnston, and Frank Thomas. These men were part of the "Nine Old Men," a group of legendary animators who helped to create some of Disney's most iconic characters.

Marc Davis was a character designer who worked on such films as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. He said that Disney was a "very demanding" boss, but he also had a "great sense of humor." According to Davis, Disney was always looking for new ideas and was willing to take risks.

Ollie Johnston was an animator who worked on such films as Bambi, Cinderella, and Peter Pan. He said that Disney was a "very creative" person who was always "full of ideas." Johnston also said that Disney was a "great leader" who was able to inspire his team to create some of the most memorable animated films of all time.

Frank Thomas was an animator who worked on such films as Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, and The Jungle Book. He said that Disney was a "very passionate" person who was "always striving for excellence." Thomas also said that Disney was a "great mentor" who taught him and other animators the importance of hard work and dedication.

These are just a few of the many insights that these artists shared with us about Walt Disney. They paint a picture of a complex and fascinating man who was driven by a passion for animation and a desire to bring joy to the world.

Disney's legacy continues to live on through his films and characters. His work has inspired generations of artists and animators, and his films continue to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

On his 118th birthday, we celebrate Walt Disney's life and work. We thank him for the joy that he has brought to the world, and we continue to be inspired by his vision and creativity.
