Fandom is a powerful force. It can bring people together from all walks of life, and it can create a sense of community and belonging. For many people, their first experience with fandom is a defining moment in their lives. It's the moment when they discover a group of people who share their passion for a particular book, movie, TV show, or other form of media. And it's the moment when they realize that they're not alone.

This anthology is a collection of essays by fans about their first experiences with their favorite fandoms. These stories are personal, funny, and heartwarming, and they offer a glimpse into the diverse world of fandom. Some of the essays in this anthology are about fandoms that are well-known, such as Harry Potter and Star Wars. Others are about fandoms that are more obscure, such as the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion." But regardless of the fandom, each of these essays tells a story about the power of fandom to connect people and create a sense of community.

My First Fandom: Harry Potter

I was 11 years old when I first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I was immediately hooked. I loved the world that J.K. Rowling had created, and I couldn't wait to read more about Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I read all of the Harry Potter books as soon as they came out, and I watched all of the movies. I even went to a Harry Potter convention. I was a huge Harry Potter fan.

But I didn't really consider myself a part of the Harry Potter fandom until I started writing Harry Potter fan fiction. I loved writing stories about my favorite characters, and I loved sharing them with other fans. I made a lot of friends through fan fiction, and I even met some of my favorite authors. Fan fiction helped me to feel connected to the Harry Potter fandom, and it gave me a sense of community.

My First Fandom: Star Wars

I was 6 years old when I first saw Star Wars: A New Hope. I was immediately blown away. I had never seen anything like it before. I loved the action, the adventure, and the characters. I watched Star Wars over and over again, and I even played with Star Wars toys. I was a huge Star Wars fan.

But I didn't really consider myself a part of the Star Wars fandom until I started collecting Star Wars memorabilia. I loved collecting action figures, posters, and other Star Wars items. I even went to a Star Wars convention. I met other Star Wars fans, and I learned more about the Star Wars universe. Collecting Star Wars memorabilia helped me to feel connected to the Star Wars fandom, and it gave me a sense of community.

My First Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I was 14 years old when I first saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was immediately hooked. I loved the show's strong female characters, its dark humor, and its supernatural themes. I watched every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I even bought the DVDs. I was a huge Buffy fan.
